The PIVH Professional Course in Veterinary Homeopathy
What’s Covered in Each Session
Session One
The foundational principles are thoroughly discussed – mechanism of homeopathic effect, the curative response and evaluating the patient’s condition. We discuss how to work up a case, use of the repertory and analysis of symptoms. Topics include adjunctive therapies, case management, building a practice, interview techniques and client communication.
Session Two
We complete the basic conceptual framework by addressing the problem of chronic disease. The three types of chronic disease and remedies to use are a major focus. We begin the topic of vaccinations and the role they play in persistent health problems. The mechanisms of defense the patient uses against disease are described. The essential relationship between nutrition and chronic disease.
Session Three
Further discussion of vaccinations and the use of nosodes to prevent disease. The significance of what appear to be “localized lesions” is explored in more detail. Evaluating the patient’s response to homeopathic treatment is a major focus of this session. Further materia medica discussion and more in-depth repertory work. Case discussions are used as a basis for application of principles.
Session Four
The evolution of chronic disease, how it becomes more complex with time. Strategies for managing the confused and suppressed case. Use of keynotes symptoms, significance of concomitant symptoms. Use of LM potencies. The treatment of emotional and mental illness. Understanding the significance of behavior in remedy selection.
